To the possible animators...

Posted by JackShock - May 23rd, 2010

This is for all the possible animators for the project I have planned. Here's the first episode script:

Betrayal Episode 1: Pilot

Narrator: The reign of Man had lasted many generations, but fell at the hands of a new technology. These were the Biomechs, 'robots' created to be almost human, fit to blend in with human society. The Biomechs felt they were superior, and destroyed the society that created them. One of their own, who had been part of the scheme, realized that she had been used, and helped begin the Resistance. Twenty years have passed since the downfall of mankind, and Kera, the Savior and Betrayer, continues to lead the Resistance. Nex, the Biomech Supreme, will stop at nothing to achieve his goal of destroying the Humans, and to show nothing but pain to the one who kept his perfect plan from making Biomechs the only sentient race.

-(Shot of kids playing some type of ball game; Kera walking casually in the background toward the outskirts of the residential sector of the current base)

Kingsman: Kera! Wait up!
Kera: Oh! Hey, Kingsman! How's it going today?
Kingsman: Oh, same old, same old. Wife is being more of an old crab today than she usually is. One of the kids set her off again, I think.
Kera:(chuckling) Your family is going to be the death of you! They get crazier and crazier everyday. I guess it shows true nature of people never changes, no matter what happens.
Kingsman: I guess that's true. So how are your folks? I heard about your old man's golf game the other day. My pop wouldn't shut up about how he got cheated out of twenty bucks on the 5th hole.
Kera: Yeah, they're doing pretty well. My mom just got into woodworking. Who knew a woman of her age could do so well at something like that?
Kingsman: Well, you know Susan. She always was a worker.
Kera: I can't argue with you there. Well, I'll see you around. Tell the kids to shape up, or I'll pay them a visit. Speaking of visits, I should head out and see what Noble's up to again. No good, knowing him.
Kingsman:(laughs) Will do. And good luck. You know how Noble can get on Lazy Days.
-(Kera turns a corner, leaving Kingsman, and after a short while, passes Noble putting up a propaganda sign)
Kera:What the- Noble!!
Noble:(turns, surprised) Crap. Again, with the shouting?
Kera: Yes 'again with the shouting'! I'm not very fond of "Fight Goldfinger" posters being posted around town! All you ever do is cause problems for me. The hell if I know why we even took you in, with your reputation.
Noble: I don't care what your record says, it was a coincidence that those camps were destroyed while I was in them! Do you really think they'd ally with a human?
Kera: I'm not sure what to think, but you better stop pulling this crap or I'll take you out no matter what you did. Now clean this crap up!
Noble:(sighs) Yes ma'am.
-(Kera walks away, showing Noble cleaning, cuts to shot of binoculars scanning the landscape and spotting a group of Biomechs. Shot cuts to Kingsman sitting inside of the IMP)
Kingsman:(on headset) Kera? You got a minute?
Kera:-What's wrong?
Kingsman:-We got a group of Hunters, about five miles west of our location. It looks like they might have a Cyclops with them. Should I fire? I can take out at least the Cyclops on my first shot, and we can easily take the others with another splinter hit.
Kera:-Not yet. Wait until they're about two miles out. We don't want to alert them if they're just passing by. They might be looking for something else.
Kingsman:-Okay, I'll be at the ready.
Kera:-Good. And can you do me one more favor?
Kingsman:-And that would be...?
Kera:-Can you keep an eye out, and when you see Commodore heading back this way, will you send for him?
Kingsman:-Sure, I will if I see him.
Kera:-Thanks.
-(Kera cuts out, leaving Kingsman monitoring for Hunters and Commodore. Commodore comes into focus, and instantly calls Kingsman)
Commodore:-Hey, you know there's a shitload of Hunters out here, right? Isn't it kind of your job to take them out so people can pass through freely?
Kingsman:-Kera told me to wait until they're two miles out. Speaking of which, she sent for you. Not sure what she needed, though.
Commodore:- Don't worry about it. Anyway, do you think you could help me out here?
Kingsman:-I'm not going against Kera's orders, not when Noble's up to his old crap again.
Commodore:-He is? I can respect your decision, then. I'll go around and go in through the Residential sector. Do you think they'll see me?
Kingsman:-Too far west. You'll be fine as long as you start out now. Should I tell Kera you're on your way?
Commodore:-No, I'll explain when I show up.
-(Commodore cuts out, shot zooms over landscape to Biomech camp; to the office of Nex. A patrol leader enters)
Patrol: Sir, the Tin Man was seen inside the Limits again today. We have reason to suspect that he might know some valuable information.
Nex: Tin Man, you say? (laughs) Well of course he knows something important! Back in the day of the Man, Mech always knew something. I'll see to it that we capture him. I sent a G/22 Cyclops with the squad today. I can just have them search around where he could be. Which way was he headed?
Patrol: East, sir. And he was carrying a weapons cache of some sort. We don't know what it contains, as of yet.
Nex: Well then, maybe I should send out a little help to the squad. I'd hate to send a normal Unit to certain death.(smiles, then bursts out laughing, quickly calming himself) We can track the case. Have X-19 get on it, pronto.
Patrol: Yes, sir. Is there anything else you need?
Nex: Yes, one more thing...
-(scene quickly zooms back across the landscape to Commodore entering the Military Tower, carrying a weapons cache)
Guard: Welcome, Commodore. Kera's been waiting a while for whatever you have in your 'magic case'. (chuckles)
Commodore: I imagine. Have a nice day.
-(Commodore enters the main planning room where Kera is, and everyone else immediately gets up and leaves.)
Kera: What took so long? You said it was a quick trip.
Commodore: I know, but I had t go in through the Residential sector, I couldn't very well alert any Hunters, could I?
Kera: I suppose not. Did you get the parts I was looking for?
Commodore: Only some of them. It's risky buying these on the Black Market. Someone might notice.
Kera: That's fine, as long as I can stay partly up to date. What parts did you get?
Commodore: Not a hand, if that's what you're implying. Kera, it's been twenty years. The only way you're getting a proper replacement for your hand is if we win this war. And we're far from achieving that.
Kera: There's still hope.
Commodore: No, there isn't. You think I didn't try? Nex will know if I get it for you. Not even the ones against the law will help who they know as a traitor. Now let's get these upgrades installed.
-(shot zooms out slowly, cuts to binocular shot once again, showing another, lankier figure running toward the retreating party)
Kingsman: What in the hell... aw, crap.
-(calls up Kera)
Kingsman:-Kera, we have a slight problem out in the field. Along with the current party of Hunters, which was retreating, we have a Lancer approaching them. They've started advancing on the base. If I fire a killing shot, I'll only have enough for one of the dangerous enemies. Do I take the Lancer or the Cyclops?
Kera:-You take the Lancer. He's going to be causing all the problems if we leave him. I'll be out there, I'll deal with the rest of them, including the Cyclops. Don't miss with your shot. It's our only chance if we want to avoid taking any casualties.
Kingsman:-Okay. Get here as soon as you can. Once I hit the Lancer, the rest are gonna be real nice and pissed.
-(Kingsman cuts out, Kera grabs Gatling gun, drives to edge of camp, where the hunters are advancing. Kera goes toward them, they stop, and the Cyclops begins to project the face of Nex onto the ground.)
Kera: What in the hell? Nex, you bastard!
Nex:(laughs) How nice to finally see your face again, Keralyn. Or Judas, I should say, you traitorous bitch. How are you doing? I've really missed you.
Kera: Bullshit.
Nex: What language? What would your mother say about that? I thought at least I would have taught you better than that.
Kera: You taught me nothing but lies. You made me think that innocents were sadists and murderers. You fooled me to fit your plans. The worst part is that I actually believed you. I thought you were right, and kind. Once I get a hold of you, there wouldn't be a God in this realm that could fix you.
Nex:(laughs) You talk as if you could. But you know as well as I do that I'm far superior. Your hubris is starting to get out of hand. You need to learn your place, be taken down a notch! I'm sure my friend here can help me with that. Well, Ciao!
-(The image cuts out, and the Cyclops immediately attacks at Kera. She dodges, picks up her Gatling gun, and shreds the Biomechs into pieces.)
Kera:Pick up these pieces, we might be able to use some of them for something.
-(Kera drives back to the camp, to find a guard holding onto Noble)
Guard: Hey, Kera. Perfect timing. Noble here was rousing up the rebels again. What should I do with him this time?
Kera: I'll deal with him. You go and get some more patrolmen to watch for Hunters. I'm not sure if this was a planned attack or not.
-(Guard leaves, Noble begins clapping)
Noble: Fine, fine leadership! Maybe you should have more of it. Then you wouldn't have so many rebels.
-(Kera kicks Noble onto the ground, picks him up, and pins him to a wall by his shirt)
Kera: Listen, you weasel. I don't have time for any more of your antics today. Cut the shenanigans, or there will be severe consequences.
Noble: I don't think punishment will help you gain any love from the camp. Now if I were leader-
-(Kera kicks him in the gut, knocking him unconscious. A guard moves over and picks him up)
Kera: Put him in a Biomech cell, so he can't cause any more trouble. I can't deal with him today.
Guard: Yes ma'am. Right away.
Kera: Thank you. Man, this day is going to hell.
-(Kera begins walking toward the Residential sector of the camp, and waves to someone sitting outside)
Susan: Keralyn! It's good to see you again. Ronald! Get out here and see your daughter! So how have you been?
Kera:(chuckling) I've been good, mom. How are you doing?
Susan: I'm good, been keeping busy. RONALD! Get out here! Don't make me come in and get you!
Ron: Kera! How's my girl? How's work?
Kera:(pauses) Same old same old.
Ron: You don't seem too sure about that. What's eating you? Do we need to pack up and head back to the main base?
Kera:No it's nothing as drastic as that. We fought some Hunters today, but they weren't posting coordinates. The only thing that Nex knows is that we're somewhere east of his city.
Susan: Are you sure? You know you shouldn't sacrifice the safety of the people here for the convenience of you or anybody else.
Kera: I know, mom. He doesn't know anything about us. Aside from that, I can't afford to lose face with any of the rebellious families around here. They might join up with Noble and I don't have the time to deal with that right now. I think we might actually be close to winning this war, and then things can go back to what they used to be.
Ron: Is that dip Noble at it again? I oughta knock him into next week for the crap he's been giving you lately!
Susan: Ron, I think Keralyn can fend for herself.
Ron: I know that! Doesn't make me want to whip him any less.
Susan: Well, you shouldn't be whipping anybody.
Ron: Why? Because I'm "too old for it"?
Susan: Because you'd have an unfair advantage. (begins to snicker, then breaks out laughing)
Kera:(laughing) Yeah, your "years of experience" would make it way too easy for you! He wouldn't stand a chance!
Ron: Alright, alright you two. You can stop laughing. I know I'm old.
Susan: You're not too old for me.
-(Kera gets a call)
Kera:Oh, it's Kingsman. It's probably more paperwork for me.(jokingly) I should probably take this.
Kingsman:-Thank the Gods! Kera, we have a huge problem! It's going to shit down here! Nex stormed the base-
Kera:-Kingsman? Are you there? Kingsman?!
Nex:-(mechanical laughter) Hello again, Judas. Don't you think it's odd? We go twenty years without any contact, and then I hear from you twice in the same day! I hope you don't mind, but I'm taking a few of your comrades back with me. Back in the city, it's a real sport to see a human try and fight a Biomech Soldier in the ring. Your friend here looks like he might even last a few fights. I'm sure he'll make a great sport! Ciao, I know we'll meet again soon.(emphasis on soon)
-(call cuts out, Kera drops to her knees)
Susan: Keralyn what's wrong? Kera?
Kera: He... He knew.
Ron: Who knew what? What happened?
Kera: Nex. He knew where we were... or he was informed.
-(quickly contacts Commodore)
Kera:-Commodore! Where's Noble? Nex attacked and I'm almost positive he's involved.
Commodore:-He can't be. I've had him under constant watch since you had him locked down. He's been sitting in the corner, hiding something in his jacket and repeating the same phrase over and over like a broken record.
Kera:-What's he saying?
Commodore:-Wait a second, I'll put him on.
Noble:-He needs help, so I give it to him. He tells me his plan, and that I'm going to die, without any fear. I hang if I speak, hang if I stay mute. Either way, only they remain...
Commodore:-I don't know what it means, but he refuses to talk to anyone. Maybe you can come down and get something from him. But you'd better get here soon.
Kera:-What about Kingsman? Nex took him! I can't leave him to die at the hands of those bastards!
Commodore:-He's gone now, you can't get him back. But you will have a chance to get him if you figure out what Noble's talking about. He might know something that could help us end this war.
Kera:-I can still catch up to Nex, he couldn't have gotten that far.
Commodore:-No, he didn't. But you can't take him. Plus, there might be an invasion.
Kera:-What do you mean? Nex already invaded.
Commodore:-No, he didn't. He attacked. Nex came alone, unless there are people following behind him. So far, there's no trace of that, but we have to be ready in case there is. If we get attacked and you can't get over here, Noble could die before we get anything out of him. Times like this call for us to play to our strengths, and this is a weakness. You have to let him go, and lead us to victory so we can get him back.
-(line goes silent, Kera begins sobbing deeply, and after a few seconds, suddenly stops)
Kera: Vos mos nunquam effrego mihi. EGO vadum non inflecto vobis.
-(Kera gets up and starts running toward the holding cell where Noble and Commodore are)
Kera:(thinking to self, crying while running) -I won't let you win this time, Nex!-
